About us
MISSION
Our mission is to strengthen the quality of care we provide by investing in continuous staff training, establishing a dedicated Quality Assurance Department to uphold safe, consistent clinical practices, and beginning diploma‑level nursing education for future nurses. Guided by compassion, dignity, and a commitment to excellence, we aim to build a capable, confident, and highly skilled healthcare team that delivers world‑class care to every patient we serve.
1938 – 2026
A life lived with humility, service, and devotion to humanity

Born in 1938 at Fort Rohtas, Dr. Yousuf Akhtar Malik dedicated his entire life to serving people with sincerity and compassion. He completed his medical education at Medical College Chittagong (then East Pakistan) and began his career as a Medical Officer in Bara Gawah, District Jhelum. In 1967, he joined the Pakistan Army Medical Corps, serving with honor, including a posting at the Jordan–Israel border in 1973–74.
In 1978, due to the disability of his eldest son, he took early retirement — but his mission of healing continued for nearly five more decades.
After leaving the Army, he founded Fateh Clinic in the name of his grandfather, providing dignified and affordable healthcare to the people of Jhelum. In 1998, in memory of his son Capt. Muazzam Ali Shaheed (Siachen), he established a small hospital that later expanded into a 45 bed facility in Kala Gujran in 2014. He closed Fateh Clinic and moved his practice entirely to the new hospital, which became a source of relief for thousands of families.
Dr. Yousuf Akhtar Malik was known for his honesty, gentle temperament, and deep concern for the poor, orphans, widows, the elderly, and the vulnerable. His life quietly demonstrated what it means to serve humanity for the sake of Allah — without seeking recognition and without seeking reward.
At home, he spent his time reading Seerat un Nabi ﷺ, Qur’an tafseer, and Islamic history in both English and Urdu. One room in his home was dedicated entirely to his books, neatly arranged on shelves. He loved the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ deeply and tried to follow his simple way of living.
He performed two nafl prayers every day as a gift to the parents of the Prophet ﷺ — a practice he never mentioned to anyone, not even his wife. In the mid 1990s, a man from Jhelum came to him and said he had seen the Prophet ﷺ in a dream, conveying that the Prophet appreciated Dr. Yousuf’s offering of the two nafl and encouraged him to continue. SubhanAllah.
His legacy lives on through the hospital he built, the people he helped, and the values he embodied. His work remains a source of sadaqah jariyah for generations to come.
May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat al Firdous. Ameen.
Following the passing of our Founder and Chairman, Dr. Major (Retd.) Yousaf Akhtar Malik, the Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Asma Zainab as Chairperson of Capt. Muazzam Ali Shaheed Welfare Trust.
A distinguished specialist in Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesiology at Houston Methodist Hospital, USA, Dr. Asma brings more than three decades of medical experience, leadership, and service. Throughout her career, she has earned the respect of colleagues and patients alike for her clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, and commitment to medical education.
A graduate of Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan (1993), Dr. Asma has devoted her professional life to advancing healthcare and supporting the development of future physicians. Her work has included contributions to respiratory and cardiovascular critical care while serving in both clinical and academic leadership roles.
As the daughter of our late Founder and Chairman, Dr. Major (Retd.) Yousaf Akhtar Malik, she carries forward a legacy built on service, compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to the poor and underserved. While honoring the vision upon which this institution was founded, she brings her own experience, perspective, and dedication to strengthening the hospital’s mission for generations to come.
We are grateful for Dr. Asma Zainab’s leadership and commitment as she guides the Trust in continuing its mission of serving the community with compassion, dignity, and excellence.
Chairperson’s Message & Vision
As I step into my role as Chairperson, I have been reflecting on the incredible heart, dedication, and expertise that exist within these walls. I am committed to a vision centered on empowering our staff and strengthening our commitment to community-focused excellence. My primary goal is to ensure that we have the support and resources needed to do what we do best: care for our community.
Our path ahead is guided by a clear vision: To foster a culture of continuous learning where our staff are equipped with the latest medical knowledge and education to provide world-class care to our neighbors. I believe that by investing in the growth and ongoing development of our staff, we directly improve the health and well-being of every family we serve.
We will strive to be a sanctuary of healing where clinical excellence and deep compassion come together, ensuring that our patients are cared for by a team that is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also genuinely kind.
I also believe that compassion and world-class medicine belong side by side. I cannot accept that financial barriers should determine the quality of care a person receives. Instead, together as a team, we will lead by example, delivering a gold standard of treatment that stands alongside the very best. By empowering our staff through continued clinical education and honoring the dignity of every patient, we will become a national beacon of hope, demonstrating that a charity hospital can—and must—be a center of excellence.
As we look to the future, let us commit ourselves to a vision in which our hospital is defined not by the resources we lack, but by the lives we touch and transform. Together, we will ensure that excellence remains our standard, compassion guides our actions, and the health of our community is our greatest measure of success.
